Day 1 - Embarkation in Ushuaia:

Settle into your comfortable cabin onboard your home-away-from-home. Before our evening cruise down the Beagle Channel, you will have time to greet fellow passengers, meet the staff and explore the ship.

Day 2 - Cross the Drake Passage:

Accompanied by albatrosses, petrels, fulmars and prions, we cross the Drake Passage. Joined by our polar experts you will learn of Antarctica's unique wildlife and history, and environmental and safety briefings will prepare you for landings.

Day 3 - First glimpse of Antarctica:

The water and air temperatures fall, marking our crossing of the Antarctic Convergence and as we do so, spirits soar and eyes are peeled for glimpses of the first iceberg, the first penguin and the first sight of land. An afternoon excursion ashore is planned.

Days 4 to 9 - Antarctic Peninsula & Polar Circle:

As the summer days begin to shorten, we explore the Peninsula's west coast, watching for the frenzied activities of penguin parents and chick and as imperial cormorant chicks bravely make their first flights from the sea cliffs. We will cruise amongst icebergs and floes, past basking Weddell and leopard seals, in the unparalleled beauty of the vast, Antarctic landscape.

Besides landing on the wildlife-rich islands, we plan to make a continental landing, possibly hiking to find spectacular views. Ice conditions will determine our journey as we move further south. Whether we cross the Polar Circle via the Inner Route or by the Bellingshausen Sea, we will make sure we celebrate in style! With luck we will reach the magnificent Crystal Sound, and pass through the Gullet, steaming on to Marguerite Bay, where relatively few have gone before. Orca, humpback and minke whales feed in the channels. We may visit the historical Stonington, Pourquoi Pas and Detaille islands, before turning north, back towards warmer climes.

Day 10 - Flight back to Punta Arenas:

We arrive at mountainous King George Island. If time and weather permit, we plan to explore Fildes Bay and the remote Bellinghausen Church before connecting with our charter flight back to Punta Arenas, Chile.

Day 11:  Punta Arenas

After breakfast it is time to bid farewell to your fellow travellers, before continuing on with your own arrangements.

Please note: The itinerary is for guidance only; each voyage will vary depending on ice and weather conditions, and any opportunities to see wildlife. Also, please note that charter flights to and from Antarctica are particularly prone to weather, which requires us to have a flexible flight schedule.
